Caroline this is from a letter sent me to concerning our sidewalk. " Please note your sidewalk damage may not be caused by an official City tree, State law and local ordinances hold the owner of the fronting property responsible for sidewalk maintenance and repair ( Section 5610 of the California State Streets and Highway Code and Section 12.04 of the Oakland Municipal Code). If the property owner is unwilling to fix there sidewalk file a compliant with code enforcement 238-3381.
